The ASUS Vivobook Pro 16X carries two SO-DIMM and one M.2 slot for RAM and storage respectively.
The 2023 ASUS Vivobook Pro 16X can be had for a respectable 11% off the retail price. In addition to the Core i9-13980HX CPU and RTX 4060 GPU, the notebook rocks excellent inputs with a nifty ASUS Dial integrated into the touchpad and a healthy selection of ports.
The ASUS Vivobook Pro 16X is a 16-inch laptop powered by the flagship Intel Raptor Lake mobile chip, the Core i9-13980HX, and up to an RTX 4070 GPU alongside an OLED display. The laptop is currently on sale at Best Buy for only US$1,599.99 instead of the US$1,799.99 retail price. According to Honey’s price history tool, this is the cheapest the ASUS Vivobook Pro 16X has gotten in 120 days.
The Vivobook Pro 16X configuration on sale features a top-of-the-line Core i9-13980HX CPU with 24 cores (8 P-cores + 16 E-cores), 16 GB of DDR5-4800 memory, a 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD, and an RTX 4060 laptop GPU. Display-wise, the laptop is equipped with a 16-inch 3.2K resolution OLED panel in a 16:10 format. The panel boasts 10-bit colors, a 120 Hz refresh rate, 0.2 ms response time, and 400 nits of claimed brightness.
Finally, the ASUS Vivobook Pro 16X also packs an FHD webcam with a privacy shutter, a backlit keyboard, and a 90 Wh battery.
In our review of the ASUS Vivobook Pro 16X, the laptop displayed excellent display properties with 98.4%, 99.7%, and 95.8% coverage of the DCI-P3, sRGB, and AdobeRGB color gamut respectively. However, the panel didn’t live up to the promise of 400 nits of brightness, as we only measured a maximum of 352 nits.
The Vivobook Pro 16X also proved to be a speedy contender which is to be expected considering the internals on offer. For instance, the Core i9-13980HX achieved close to 29,000 points in the Cinebench R23 Multi-Core test. Combined with the RTX 4060 laptop that performs on par with the RTX 3070 Ti laptop GPU, the Vivobook Pro 16X earned a performance rating of 82%.
Topping it all off, the Vivobook Pro 16X is fairly quiet and doesn’t get too hot even when pushed. This is complemented by a 6.5-hour runtime in our Wi-Fi Websurfing test which is pretty respectable considering the power-hungry Core i9-13980HX under the hood.
Put simply, if you are after a fast OLED laptop for creative workloads that is also reasonably priced, the ASUS Vivobook Pro 16X for US$1,599.99 should satisfy your needs.
