Reviews for the Dell Precision 5480
89.6% Nvidia RTX 3000 Ada performance debut: Dell Precision 5480 workstation review | Notebookcheck
Not much has changed from a visual standpoint, but the GPU update from last year’s Precision 5470 is significant and worth considering for power users who want to maximize performance from a small 14-inch form factor.
80% Dell Precision 5480 Review
Source: PC Mag
As laptops go, mobile workstations are ultra-engineered and ultra-expensive, built to run and run while tackling the most demanding tasks. The Dell Precision 5480 doesn’t dazzle us with sheer performance, with a Core i9 CPU that barely outstrips a Core i7 and merely great instead of stupendous graphics, but it’s miles more portable than the 16- and 17-inch workstations at the head of the class. We doubt Pixar artists would choose it for 3D animation, but architects or engineers who need to bring drawings to clients’ offices will be delighted with it.

NVIDIA NVIDIA RTX 3000 Ada Generation Laptop GPU: A higher-end professional graphics card for use in laptops that sports 4,608 CUDA cores and 8 GB of ECC GDDR6 VRAM. It would be fair to say that this is a GeForce RTX 4070 (Laptop) in disguise. Brought into existence in 2023, the RTX 3000 leverages TSMC’s 5 nm process and Nvidia’s Ada Lovelace architecture to achieve higher-than-average performance combined with moderate power consumption. This graphics card is fast enough to run many games at 1440p with High quality settings.
These graphics cards are able to play the latest and most demanding games in high resolutions and full detail settings with enabled Anti-Aliasing.

14.00″:
There are hardly any tablets in this display size range anymore. For subnotebooks, on the other hand, it is the standard format.
The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small and therefore easily portable. The smaller display also has the advantage of requiring less power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is more strenuous on the eyes. High resolutions are more likely to be found in standard laptops.
