The South Korean tech giant LG has recently introduced its brand-new 2023 televisions sets, such as the beautiful C3 OLED, which has already received its first noteworthy discounts earlier this week. While some home theater enthusiasts are preparing to buy one of these latest and greatest TVs, others are looking for a reasonably priced sound upgrade, which is where a current deal for the LG S80QY soundbar with Dolby Atmos comes into play.
Specifically, the American online retailer Newegg is now selling the LG S80QY, which relies on a pretty powerful 3.1.3-channel setup with a dedicated subwoofer and a total output of up to 480 watts, for just US$337 including free shipping. This constitutes a gigantic 62 percent discount in comparison to the official MSRP of this soundbar, which is part of the manufacturer’s 2022 lineup. According to Camelcamelcamel’s price tracker, it also beats Amazon’s lowest price ever for the LG S80QY, which supports Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and basically all other state-of-the-art audio formats.
Rtings’ detailed review further praises the LG S80QY for its neutral sound profile, while the dedicated wireless subwoofer provides the sought-after rumbling that tiny integrated TV speakers cannot create. However, prospective buyers should also note that the soundbar’s surround performance, despite the Dolby Atmos support, is rather limited since it does not feature satellite speakers for the rear channels. But for television owners who are looking for a decent 3.1 speaker system in the US$300 price range, this deal is most certainly worth a look.
