Nothing has finally unveiled the Phone (2a) after several teasers and purposeful leaks on its social channels, aside from being the London-based tech company’s lower priced model, it is also considered to be the direct successor to the original Phone (1).
The Nothing Phone (2a) features a fresh new design on the back with its camera arrays positioned on the top middle part, surrounded by an NFC coil and its Glyph interface, which the latter consist of three short LED strips with a total of 26 addressable LEDS.
Powered by a customized Mediatek Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset paired to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, the Phone (2a) has a 6.7-inch Flexible AMOLED display that pushes FHD+ resolution with an adaptive refresh rate of 30-120Hz, 1300 nits peak brightness and 2160Hz PWM Dimming, the phone is juiced by a 5000mAh battery that supports 45W USB PD wired charging, wireless charging is however omitted as a cost saving measure.
The Phone (2a) ships with Nothing OS 2.5 based on Android 14 out of the box, you get 10 new Glyph ringtones as part of the package and a clean software experience with unique dot-like widgets, Nothing offers the Phone (2a) with 3 years of Android OS upgrades and 4 years of security updates.
Nothing Phone (2a) will be available in a single storage variant of 12GB RAM+256GB Storage, and color options of Milk and Black, it is already available for purchase starting today on a first-come, first-serve basis at RM1,699 and customers can head over to CROSSOVER at Sunway Pyramid to get one.
The Phone (2a) will be made available generally on March 9th onwards at retailers DirectD, TMT, Urban Republic, Vivid Concepts, Tac Mobile and Nothing Image Store – Plaza Lowyat, Yes 5G as usual will be the phone’s official telco and will ofer the phone on contract with its pospaid plans, it will also be available for purchase online at the official Nothing Lazada and Shopee store.
