The Redmi 12 5G is set to get its global debut in India next week. And while the primary focus will be on Redmi upcoming affordable 5G smartphone, several other products will be unveiled at the event.
A recent teaser by the brand has confirmed that the list of devices will also include the Redmi 12 4G, Redmi Watch 3 Active, and Xiaomi Smart TV (X Series). So, here’s everything you need to know about Xiaomi’s upcoming launch event.
Redmi 12 5G Launch Date in India
The Redmi 12 5G global launch event will take place on August 1 in India. The Redmi 12 5G has already showed up on Amazon India, suggesting that the handset will go on sale through the platform after its launch in the country.
Additionally, the Redmi 12 4G and Redmi Watch 3 Active will also go on sale through Amazon after its launch in the country. Additionally, we are also going to see the launch of the Xiaomi Smart TV X Series at the event.

Redmi 12 5G: What we know so far
The Amazon page confirms that the Redmi 12 5G will feature a “Crystal Glass Design”. The page also shows the phone in a Moonstone Silver shade with rainbow hues. Xiaomi head of design and content Sandeep Sharma also teased the device in Pastel Blue and Jade Black colours.

Amazon’s page also confirms that the Redmi 12 5G will feature a 50 MP primary camera sensor on the back. It is set to feature the biggest display on a Redmi smartphone to date. According to reports, the handset is expected to sport a 6.79-inch FHD+ IPS LCD panel with a peak brightness of 550 nits. Additionally, the panel is expected to feature a 90Hz refresh rate.
The Redmi 12 5G is also confirmed to arrive with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Additionally, up to 8GB of unused storage can be utilised as virtual RAM on the Redmi 12 5G. Lastly, the phone will use a massive 5,000 mAh battery. Rumours also suggests that the Redmi 12 5G will be the first smartphone in India to use the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset.
