Xpeng Motors, a leading Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, has unveiled its latest model, the Xpeng G6 mid-sized electric SUV, with prices starting from CNY 209,900 ($32,500). The new vehicle, which boasts a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in just 3.9 seconds and a range of 580 km, is set to commence deliveries in July 2023.
The Xpeng G6 comes in several variants with different prices and features:
580 Long Range Pro: CNY 209,900 ($32,500)
580 Long Range Max: CNY 229,900 ($35,600)
755 Ultra Long Range Pro: CNY 234,900 ($36,400)
755 Ultra Long Range Max: CNY 254,900 ($39,500)
700 Four-wheel Drive Performance Max: CNY 276,900 ($42,900).
The G6 is designed as a mid-sized electric SUV, with dimensions of 4753 mm (length), 1920 mm (width), and 1650 mm (height). The vehicle also features a wheelbase of 2890 mm. Other design features include a low wind resistance pulse curvature design, a 50:50 front-to-rear axle load, and a thick-walled LED combination taillight design. The G6 also comes with an adaptive lifting electric tail wing, which can automatically adjust its height based on the vehicle’s speed.
Available in six colors – Molten Orange, New Moon Silver, Star Rain Green, Photon Blue, Star Quell Gray, and Nebula White – the G6 offers a standard trunk capacity of 571 liters, which can be expanded to 1374 liters by folding the rear seats.
The interior of the G6 adopts a new design style, integrating a “vector star ring” design into the center console. The vehicle features a 10.2-inch full LCD dashboard and a 14.96-inch center control screen. Additionally, it is equipped with a 31-sensor smart driving system and supports advanced assisted driving functions. The G6 is also fitted with features like a windless smart air conditioner, a panoramic skylight, heated/ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charging panel, and the “XOpera Xpeng Music Hall” function.
The Xpeng G6 is the first model built on the Fu Yao architecture, and it features the industry’s first mass-produced all-scenario smart assisted driving system. This system enables intelligent obstacle avoidance, traffic light recognition, lane-changing overtaking, and cross-floor positioning. Two drive options are available: a two-wheel-drive version with a maximum power of 218 kW and a peak torque of 440 Nm, and a four-wheel-drive version with a combined power of 358 kW and a combined torque of 660 Nm. The vehicle can be fitted with either a 66 kWh iron phosphate battery or an 87.5 kWh ternary lithium battery, and supports 800V fast charging, which can add 300 km of range in just 10 minutes. The claimed combined range (CLTC) can reach up to 755 km.
