Massive lag when using One UI
However, the short sequence from minute 3:20 onwards in which the video rendering program Premiere Rush is used on both phones is revealing more trouble. This program has not really been optimized for Exynos chips for years and even in 2024 shows massive performance differences in the comparison. Also interesting to note are the minutes after the end of the render test from minute 4:08 onwards where you can literally watch the Galaxy S24 Plus lag and stutter massively on the home screen. Apparently, the short render episode has affected the Exynos 2400 to such an extent that even the basic One UI operation is massively throttled.
Even a restart does not help at this point : after repeating the test a second time, the Galaxy S24+ again behaves equally lame. The tester rightly speculates that a software update from Samsung and/or Adobe could quickly remedy these problems. However, it is questionable whether this will actually happen. Similar to the problems early testers found with camera quality, it is rarely a good idea to make a purchase decision based on hopes of a future update. The above video ends showing that the 4,900 mAh battery of the Galaxy S24+ also discharged significantly faster than the 5,000 mAh battery of the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
