Florence Welch gets candid about working with Taylor Swift

Florence Welch just admitted to forgetting how famous her friend, Taylor Swift actually is.

In an exclusive interview to British Vogue, the Florence and the Machine frontwoman discussed her collaboration on Swift’s latest song, Florida!!!

She talked about how working with the Anti-hero crooner in the studio, recording her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, made Welch forget about Swift’s stature.

“I almost didn’t think of the scale of it,” said the 37-year-old singer, referring to the immense level of fan support TTPD received, which has now led it to become Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single week.

“There’s the sort of bigness of (Taylor Swift the phenomenon), and then there’s the Taylor I spend time with in the studio, who is just the sweetest and most down to earth,” Welch added.

Florence Welch also talked about how Taylor Swift came to her with “a concept and a story” for the track — “my favorite way to start songwriting,” she said.

“We had such a fun time,” recalled the Grammy-nominated artist. “And then when it came out I was like, ‘Oh, s***!'” referring to the how Welch had no clue of the response the song would receive post-release.
