Hyde Energy expands portfolio, opens new LPG Facility in Benue

As the demand for sustainable energy rises, Hyde Energy Limited has expanded its Liqueﬁed Petroleum Gas (LPG) operations by the commission of a new LPG facility in Makurdi, Benue State capital.

Speaking at the official commissioning, Oladimeji Edwards, chief executive officer of Hyde Energy, said, “We are proud to partner with the Nigerian Air Force to bring this important project to completion.

“This facility symbolises our commitment to a more secure and sustainable future. We are bringing tangible benefits to both domestic and business LPG users, to the Nigerian economy, and to the environment at large,” Edwards said.

He stated that from developing storage terminals to establishing LPG hubs across Nigeria, the firm’s strategy focuses on delivering LPG to homes and other end users safely and efficiently.

LPG is a low-carbon fuel that emits less carbon dioxide, its tool as a transitional fuel addresses the issue of climate change and significantly offers environmental benefits for being a viable option and it supports Nigeria’s Decade of Gas policy.

According to the firm, the NAFIL-Hyde Energy LPG Facility located at the Nigerian Air Force base of the state will provide the force and its environs with a reliable and sustainable source of energy and improve the adoption of LPG in homes as against the use of wood and kerosene.

With a capacity of 40 MT, Hyde Energy Limited says it is expected to create job opportunities and boost the economy of the state while also contributing to the country’s Human Development Index. The ribbon-cutting ceremony highlighted the significance of the NAFIL-Hyde Energy LPG Facility and commended Hyde Energy for the initiative.

“This is a good project for the Nigerian Air Force Makurdi and for the community, and I am glad to witness the commissioning of the NAFIL-Hyde Energy LPG Facility,” he said

He stated that the commissioning of the project will enhance personnel motivation and welfare which is a priority of the Chief of The Air Staff.

“Security and safety is our top priority as a security organisation, and we will ensure that this will be adhered to,” he added.

“We are confident that the LPG facility will be a valuable asset to the Nigerian Air Force community, and it will help enhance a cleaner environment,” he said.

Hyde Energy reiterate plans to expand its LPG plants in the north and southeast, saying it has eight other outlets in the North and Southwest that are scheduled to be commissioned soon.
