School’s out, summer is here and the pools are open.
We are firmly in the midst of the hot weather and humidity season now — which also means that water sports are in full swing as well. As you work on your diving form and cannonball flair, let the professionals show us how its done.
Starting on Tuesday, the Phillips 66 National Championships will get underway and they feature some big names in 2023. With the sports calendar nearly reaching a summer hiatus, allow the likes of Katie Ledecky and Caeleb Dressel to keep you from jumping off the deep end.
The 10-time Olympic medalist and world-record holder Ledecky and the seven-time Olympic gold medalist and world-record holder Dressel headline the event at Indiana University’s Natatorium in Indianapolis.
Ledecky is expected to put the goggles on for the 200, 400, 800, and 1,500 freestyle events. She is the reigning champion of and holds the Olympic and world record in both the 800 and 1,500.
Those looking to catch Dressel in action can tune in to the 50 and 100 freestyle, as well as the 50 and 100 butterfly competitions.
Swimmers in Indianapolis will be competing for a spot on the U.S. team in July’s 2023 World Aquatics Championships, which is being held in Fukuoka, Japan. Each Olympic event winner will qualify in addition to the top four finishers in the 100 and 200 freestyle.
