Banana Pi has presented the BPI-M4 Zero, a 65 x 30 mm single-board computer that utilises an Allwinner H618 chipset and 2 GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The Banana Pi BPI-M4 Zero also has built-in eMMC flash storage and a modem that provides Bluetooth/Wi-Fi connectivity.
Banana Pi has introduced the Banana Pi BPI-M4 Zero, a single-board computer (SBC) and development board that measures 65 x 30 mm. Thus, the SBC shares its form factor with the Orange Pi Zero 2W and Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, among others. Incidentally, while the BPI-M4 Zero may share its name with the BPI-M4, the pair do not share components.
Instead, Banana Pi claims that the BPI-M4 Zero succeeds the BPI-M2 Zero (curr. US$28.79 on Amazon). According to the company, it has based the former on the Allwinner H618, a chipset with four ARM Cortex-A53 CPU cores and a Mali-G31 GPU. Additionally, Banana Pi complements the low-powered chipset with 2 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 8 GB of eMMC flash storage, the latter of which is expandable with a MicroSD card.
Moreover, the BPI-M4 Zero boasts Bluetooth 4.2 and 2.4 GHz/5 GHz Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as an Ethernet port limited to 100 Mbps. The SBC has plenty of other connectivity options too, including USB 2.0 Type-C (OTG), Mini HDMI 2.0a and a 40-pin expansion header. While Banana Pi has not unveiled pricing details yet, it has published more device information on a dedicated wiki page.
