Khuzani, winner of the Ukhozi FM song of the year
A 25-year-old man was stabbed to death on New Year Eve’s due to Ukhozi FM Song of the Year.
Khuzani Mpungose was announced as the winner buy the radio station and it sparked controversy, with people dragging the station on various social media channels.
According to Sunday World, the KwaZulu-Natal police have arrested a 24-year-old man involved in the stabbing death of his friend.
The deceased was killed during a quarrel at a local store over the Ukhozi FM song of the new year (ingoma eyohlukanisa unyaka) contest.
KZN police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda confirmed the arrest.
“Police in Ntambanana have arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with the murder of a 25-year-old man who was allegedly stabbed to death at Ebhokisini Area,” Netshiunda said.
Meanwhile Khuzani also suffered abuse after winning the Song of the Year, as he was booed off stage and some people threw bottles at him while he was performing on stage.
